The concept in the Scriptures about God’s active intervention in the current affairs of nations and revelation of the ongoing execution of His plan for mankind as the Yahweh Redeemer through His Church, as shown in this video (see below), is going to challenge many Christians. It will challenge the entrenched viewpoint that (a) God no longer gives fresh revelation to His people of His activities or His plans for the Church and the world, (b) information into the activities of the providential working of God today cannot be ascertained except by observation and application of the Scriptures, i.e., solely through the lens of an eschatological system, (c) faith for the believer applies to belief in the gospel for salvation but not in conducting warfare against Satan and this fallen world or in the power of the Spirit to advance His kingdom, and (d) God does not act in the current affairs of the nations or through the Church as He once did in historical, biblical times. Such views are unbiblical and have paralyzed the Church from achieving its Great Commission mandate for centuries. It has resulted in the failure of the Church to retake dominion over the earth to establish the kingdom of Christ over every nation through the gospel and discipleship, in accordance with Old Testament prophecies and the parables and commission of Christ in the New Testament. Discipleship today includes training converts to minister in accordance with 1 Cor 12 – 14. Omission of such teaching has contributed to the blunting of the Church’s effectiveness as an instrument of Christ, its Head, to crush Satan under His feet, but instead has enabled Satan to keep the world in bondage to wickedness and corruption. It has quenched the Spirit’s urgent exhortations to believers to (a) immerse themselves in the Word of God of the Bible to be armed for the intense conflict now underway in the world and (b) to be equipped to be God’s arm of redemption and light to the world. God’s Providence in Modern World Events
Published by Noble Berean II
Raised a Catholic but became born again in young adulthood principally through reading Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell (I highly recommend it). I prefer the Reformed faith and subscribe to the Five Solas, but hold to baptism by immersion. I also hold to a continuationist view of the doctrine of Spiritual gifts. To me, the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, with a Christocentric theme in its entirety. I hold to an orthodox preterist hermeneutic and prefer the Postmillenial eschatology as the most biblical doctrine of God’s plan for His kingdom in Christ. View more posts
